What is an ADU?
An Accessory Dwelling Unit (or ADU) is a secondary livable structure on a shared lot with a main home structure. It can be a standalone structure (detached ADU) or built into the main home, such as in the basement or garage (attached ADU). ADU’s are designed to be a complete home and contain living/sleeping areas as well as a kitchen.
